Kelmscott Kickoff

I’ve just started on the Kelmscott cardigan by Carol Sunday, from the Twist Collective Winter 2009 collection. It’s a beautiful little cardigan with an architectural collar. I don’t know if this yarn is going to work out well though, because it’s not as fuzzy as the yarn they recommended. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

Not So Lacey Laceweight Scarflet

This little scarflet was knit with Knit Picks Shadow Kettle Dyed laceweight yarn. I didn’t use a pattern, and it’s not perfect, but it’s light and soft and I love how it bunches up like a bouquet when it’s doubled around the neck.

Mesosmock

This is the “Mesosmock” pattern by Jen Sullivan. Halle picked the yarn– Loops & Threads Incredible in Summerset. It worked up pretty quickly. I think I may have to try this pattern again, in a solid color next time. Hopefully Halle can get to wear it few times before it’s too warm for sweaters.

123-4

This is the “123-4 Knitted Jacket With Waves” pattern from Garnstudio. I used the Phildar Horizons yarn I got at the Ewe Count sale last year. The color is “Fjord.” It worked out absolutely beautifully, and I got this done in 5 weeks. The picture really doesn’t do it justice. It’s soft and fuzzy […]

Knit, Knit, Knit!

Been knitting like crazy this past month. Started off with a nice cabled vest for Halle. She picked out the yarn herself, Lion Brand Tweed Stripes, and the pattern, “#31 Girl’s Cabled Dress” by Amy Polcyn from the Holiday 2010 issue of Knit Simple Magazine. It worked up pretty quickly (just in time for her […]

A Pretty Pair

I’m very proud of this new hat and scarf set, just finished today.

This is the “Leda” scarf, pattern by Pamela Wynne, done in ShiBui Knits sock, mulberry color; and the “#03 Beret” by Lori Steinberg, done in Plymouth Yarn Dye For Me Baby Llama Glow (hand-dyed with koolaide and food coloring) with an […]

My Giant Orange Nemesis is Defeated

I started the “Braided Riding Jacket” from the Winter 2009 issue of Interweave Knits back in November of 2009. I finished the bottom panel, which was quite fun, but gave up once I started on that awful wrapped stitch that the pattern calls for in the top and sleeves. I tried substituting […]

Spirit in the Sky

A Sign From Above?

I came home from work today, kind of stressed out and worn out and generally down in the dumps. When I pulled up in the driveway this morning, I saw this cross in the sky.

Here are some more great photos from a recent day trip to Granite Lake.

Cuteness!

A new picture of our new nephew, Jacob. So adorable!

I finished the Red Summer Cardigan too.

Red Summer Cardigan

Update

Poppy’s doing well, and so is Molly. Molly got her staples out, and all the dogs got their shots for the year while we were at it. And now the vet can afford to keep his kid in college a couple more months!

We took a day trip to Loveland the other day, and […]
